Reflection on Biblical Final
Please reflect on the following questions about the open book, open internet, collaborative final:

1. I liked how everyone worked together on the Biblical allusions.

3. I would've helped the person who got us 1/5 points from numbers 30 to something.
4. Perhaps let us know the vocabulary that she was going to choose for the columns.
1. I liked how we could all work as a team, which truly showed our collaboration skills.

3. I would have people, along with myself, to do a quality check after we had finished.
4. Gone over the allusions in greater detail.
1. The collaborative portion was creative. The product would also be a good material for us to go through a lot of the allusions in the Bible. The fact that it was open book also gave us a chance to learn a lot more within a day.
ReplyDelete2. The vocabulary part was rather too crazy that created two problems. 1) It was impossible to study for a lot of people within the given time restraints. 2) It's not a good way to allow students to demonstrate their academic integrity.
3. I would have gone through every single allusion to make sure people didn't just copy and paste, and I would have studied all of the vocabulary words.
4. Giving us the materials earlier so we could have more time to prepare.

3. If i could do it differently i would read over the ones that are not done by me and make sure people bring their computer the night before
4. reduce the sections of the bible thats going to be tested.
1. I didn't have to come up with 50 paragraphs all by myself.

ReplyDelete2. Since there are a ton of question that is divided into parts for every students, it is out of our power to control how well the questions are written.

4.Divide class into smaller group with less question to keep it more organized.
1 I like the way that the final teach us how to find the answer that we are looking for instead of memorizing all the allusions and detail informations.

1. Open book and open Internet for the allusion are good. We can really do something that we would do in the future--- do research when we don't understand something rather than strictly memorizing them.
ReplyDelete2. Vocabulary part is too crazy. There are also some disadvantage of class collaboration. Everyone has to share the same grade, which is somehow unfair to those who work on the biblical allusion earlier.
3. Do more research on biblical allusion before hand.
4. For the vocabulary part, the teacher could test the students the vocabulary they put down by their own instead oh asking them to memorize all vocabularies from the whole class. For the biblical allusion part, the teacher could decrease the number of allusions students need to do (probably 3 or 5) and let them do it individually ( but also open Internet).

3. Put people into groups and make sure they finish their works.
