For your final, please review all of the vocabulary and PRS from second quarter. In addition, be prepared to identify the following things from a text:

• A character's dream (what abstract concept a character desires)
• How that dream is thwarted
• What the character's inability to achieve a dream says about the character and American society

In addition, you will be asked to make a connection with one of the texts read during second quarter.

Start reading Death of a Salesman. Try to get to the end of Act I (page 59).

Post a quotation from Death of a Salesman in the analysis section and compare it thematically to The Great Gatsby.

There will be a reading comprehension and vocabulary quiz based on "Winter Dreams," "The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin," and "Self-Reliance" on Monday.
